Other than the inherant bias of the person who picked the moives and the absurdity of the idea that watching particular movies makes one a loser, this survey is biased against people who have lived longer and therefore have had more time to watch movies. While still being ridiculous, it would be better if the question at top were changed to "Number the ones you've seen in the past five years.". This would probably neccisate a lowering of the critical number, but at least make it more of a gauge of recent movie watching habits.

I got 30, and I'm surprised it's as high as that. If you said "last five years", it's probably half that. I'm a cranky old snobwoman about movies, the older I get, the fewer leave me thinking "Damn, that's two hours well-spent!"

hehe, I got 30, too.

I might have seen a couple more and just not remembered... and there were a couple where I said, "Uhhh, yeah, I think I saw that...." It's sad how few movies are memorable now, but people pay $10 to see them. Yuck.

OMG, the imaginary word is GANK. GANK, I tell you! *snaps*

plus:

GAK reminds me of that nasty-smelling Nickelodeon gooey plastic... stuff... in the little splat-shaped container. Whoa, 80s.

I was using ganked for a while, but I switched over to gacked. I don't know why, I just did. If it overly bothers people I may just switch back to stolen.

It doesn't bother me at all. Both are in the Urban Dictionary and, apparently, are in usage, though 'gank' is more popular. Regardless of that, it's your journal; you can use whatever words you want. Make 'em up if it pleases you! I just thought it was funny to be grammar-nazi over a word which is not officially recognized.

(I think you and I have similarly thorough styles of explanation, though I observe that you are sometimes more precise than I. Four score and seven years ago...)

Making up words is wonderful, and I do it quite often. Although, when I do it I usually attempt to make the meaning of the new word as selfevident as possible. I also have a habit of combining traditionally separated words into compound words.

I'm finding more and more people willing to verb things willy-nilly, which is kinda fun.

I am not ashamed to say that my total was 118. That means either I have entirely too much time on my hands or I have an incredibly diverse taste for movies. There are, of course, a few that could be deemed of questionable taste; however, I am of questionable taste myself.
