dicotomygrrl took me to see Donnie Darko last night in Coolage Corner. I'd never seen it before. The movie was especially odd for me, because I was once an insane high school student obsessed with the concept of time travel. While I have never been ordered to do things by strange entities in creepy bunny suits and the troubles I caused were considerably less destructive in nature, the similarities were strong enough to make watching it quite odd. In high school I experienced a good deal of sensory distortions such as seeing things as if I were looking through some sort of strange tunnel similar to the appearance of when he looked into the tunnels, but not when he saw them coming out of people. However, the strange scenes in which tunnel structures flowed out of peoples chests reminded me of times when the distortions would make everyone's head appear shrunken or make everyone's ears appear enlarged. Again, those are sensory distortions as opposed to the hallucinations depicted in the movie. I think I should like to see the movie again. |

I'm glad you saw DD; it's one of my favorite movies.
Make sure you see the director's cut at some point, if that's not the version you've already seen.
imes when the distortions would make everyone's head appear shrunken or make everyone's ears appear enlarged.
that used to happen to me quite a bit, but it's mostly gone now.
