I just have to wonder "What the hell was she thinking?" She was asked by an airport employee about the strange device she was wearing and walked away. What did she expect to happen? People who are already blaming the police for this should put themselves in their shoes: they didn't know what the device or the putty she was carrying was and she refused to answer questions about it. What were they supposed to do? She's lucky be alive after a stunt like that. Use some common sense.

See...for me, this is how the police are supposed to act - not tasing some poor yutz because he's got a big mouth he won't shut. I'm just glad she had the minimal sense needed to cooperate with the police, and that the police were collected enough to deal with her firmly but appropriately. In a situation where they had, IMHO, a fairly reasonable motive for being much more heavy-handed, they behaved professionally and properly. The security people involved should be commended for their work.

And yah...what the hell was she thinking? It's like people who still find themselves getting arrested for making stupid jokes about bombs to security people at airports. I mean, DUH. Just use your flippin' brain for something other than keeping enough pressure on your skull to keep your hair out of your neck...

Still hate the environment of paranoia in this country.

Yes, she should have used more common sense, but still it
does illustrate the bad path this country and a few others
have gone down.

...and yes if i were a cop i would have acted EXACTLY in
the same manner except i think i would not have preferred
charges.

Despite the fact that today's society is in many ways overly sensitive, I think this girl was not dealt with harsh enough. It's people like her that force us to be more afraid than we should be. I'm glad that security and police acted as they did; and like you said, she's DAMN lucky to be alive--police can and do shoot for a lot less than that.
