| Bright Smeared Suns
bright smeared suns crumbling moss cracked gray dirt cliffs wait to fall to the rubble filled ocean below
rains come gone is the bright smeared suns gone is the crumbling moss gone is the cracked gray dirt
the cliffs have moved across the empty sea resting clean on the other side | |

I awoke a citizen of the world. I shall go to sleep an American.

I awake this morning more level headed. Yesterday was crazy. Everyone was crazy.
I felt weirdly patriotic last night. Something I really haven't ever felt. I still love the world, and feel a part of it. I think the solution can only be found by the world working together. I don't know what it was. Everything was just so surreal, including myself. Today, as I awake, everything seems real again.
Maybe I love my country a little more than I did before, but I'm not about to go waving a flag in the street. It doesn't mean I've become apathetic to the causes I believe in.
Some people think loving your country, even a little, is wrong or somehow stupid. A little patriotism is a good thing. It's what holds a country together. What yesterdays events did was show many of those who didn't realize they had any patriotism in themselves that they did.
