GenderPlay and Back

Date and Time  - Mar. 5th, 2002, 08:59 am

Current Mood  - awake awake
Current Music  - Sister Sledge - We Are Family

Yesterday afternoon, I went to the Social Security Office with [info]zarthon (who came along to lend support). I went to start the appeals process on the denial of my application for disability. They told me to come back Thursday morning.

Afterwards, [info]zarthon and I came back here, played a little Boggle and geeked out a little. He left when I started getting ready for GenderPlay.

GenderPlay was a small gathering this time. We played Lunch Money and Gother Than Thou.

Gother Than Thou was definitely a different game played as an ex-goth with non-goths. The last time I played Gother Than Thou, I was in high black behind an abandoned mental institution at 3AM with a goth friend who's job it was to watch the set equipment for a horror movie that was being filmed inside the old institution during the day. Things change.

[info]grrldan made the quote of the night when he said to Mandy, "You're at 15. If I'd known that I wouldn't have given you genital piercings."

Mandy gave me ride home. In the car we geeked out big time about things from the mathematics and functionality of European paper sizes to base conversion and variation to prime numbers.

Vodka Sauce Disaster

Date and Time  - Mar. 5th, 2002, 11:54 am

Current Mood  - cheerful cheerful
Current Music  - Marilyn Manson - Cake and Sodomy

I went to Walgreens to fill my spironolactone prescription. While I was waiting, I decided to walk across the crowded parking lot to Trader Joe's and pick up one or two things. Ended up buying supplies for several future dishes that I plan on making. Walked back accross to Walgreens and picked up my prescription. I placed the Walgreens plastic bag inside the larger Trader Joe's paper bag with handles.

Walking back to the house, one of the handles ripped. The bag hit the sidewalk, and the jar of vodka sauce contained inside shattered. Vodka sauce everywhere all over everything. I piled everything from the Trader Joe's bag into the saucesoaked Walgreens bag and walked to the corner store. As a regular customer, they were more than happy to give me a plastic bag to put my Walgreens bag into. Arriving home, I rinsed off all the items in the bag.

I was planning on making vodka sauce and mozzarella ziti for [info]purpleglitter when she gets home this evening, but now she's going to have to settle for black bean chili and cheddar bowties.
