The Thanksgiving Potluck was small and cosy, as expected. The improvised stuffing turned out better than I expected. We've decided to call it "heathen stuffing". I'll be posting a recipe for it sometime in the near future. Sitting at the table with wine and food and friends is what Thanksgiving is all about for me. Stuffed bellies and smiling faces. Warm happy memories to keep close by in the approaching dreariness of January and February. ----- After dinner, we watched The Others, a wonderful movie I'd seen before but was happy to see again. We then watched the Eddie Izzard tape Mitzi brought over. I'd never seen Eddie Izzard before, and I must say he is incredibly funny. Mitzi has impeccable taste in comedy. I'm definitely going to try to see more tapes of his stand up routines. |

i noticed you had added me to your friends list. i do not mind at all! we seem to have quite a bit in common. we share a lot that i didn'd necessarily add to my info page.
where did you find me? out of curiousity! i would love to chat sometime.
i am going to add you as well.. if that's okay!
*hugs*
where did you find me? out of curiousity!
Randomly searching interests.
i would love to chat sometime.
Would love to.
i am going to add you as well.. if that's okay!
Yay!
well, i am rather special feeling as i see you have a lot of friends and interests to have been added :) i am glad you found me :)
i hope to see you around the messengers sometime hehe.
i forgot to add.. that i also loved Eddie Izzard. did you see his comedy show Dressed to Kill? he is such a smart witty man with his humour. you have to know a bit about history to get some of it. but, for the well read out there it's a treasure.
i also used to be "goth" and in the scene.. but i've meandered back to mainly GLBT friends again and i have a few "goths" left from the net or from places i've used to live that i talk to on the various messengers but generally i keep away from the scene over there. i just decided to make my style and likes more "me" and stopped worrying about what a scene would think if i dressed down to an outing or other such nonsense pressures. i just do what i want and hang out in places i like and am me. it feels much more liberating and less stressful since i know what i like more than any one group could possibly dictate.
i also noticed that we are around the same age.. that is also very cool indeed as most people i encounter lately seem to be under my age and it is somewhat maddening at times as i feel they are in a different stage of life than i am. i feel like in the past i was more manic and everything seemed more urgent...things had to be done more so and clubbing was the to do. i just can't be that way anymore...i feel.. old sometimes :P
okay, i will leave you be now.. as i bother you with my pesky self...
I'm glad you had a good thanksgiving.
Please tell me you saw "Unrepeatable" rather than any of the later recordings of Izzard. In this he is the Far Side made flesh at times; later ones he's just as funny but not quite as personal and interesting. ^_^
Mitzi had Dress to Kill. I should make a point of hunting down a copy of Unrepeatable.
Do try - you get little gems like small dogs unhappy with their wash, and Star Trek with phasers that have a "sudden interest in botany" setting...
Then again, IIRC he makes a lot more reference to culturally-specific things, so you may well not find it quite as amusing. ^_^
Anyway. Have fun. ^_^
Eddie is absolutely fabulous! I have Glorious and I want more more more!!
I'm glad you had a good time.
Can't believe you had not seen him before, he's cool. Have you seen the Avengers? He played a thug in that film. | |
well hellolleh there
