I don't like the idea of getting rid of invite codes. This place is going to be troll city. Troll after troll after troll. They'll be no getting rid of them. Once they're gotten rid of, they'll just get on with a new account. I don't like this course of action at all.

You make a good point. Hadn't even thought of that.
I agree, for the same reasons. On the upside, they are talking implementing a "warning" system, ala AOL Instant Messanger, whereby you can flag trolls as such to the point of maybe getting them banned. It still sucks mega ass, tho. -H...
trouble with that is that if it goes upstreasm for review and all, you're gonna have to deal with some designated "management type" making final decisions on bannings, and as much as i love LJ, they haven't been proactive about marking certain behaviors, such as stalking, to be de facto unacceptable.
i like invite codes. as it is i got trolled by some crazy girl obsessed with that i was, get this, a LESBIAN and i WORK WITH CHILDREN. isn't that lovely? last thing we need is free-for-alls.
also i have a big mess of codes and i'm not afraid to share them.
Yeah I agree. I dont think its a great idea ... we should protest. | |
