What about it exactly. the thought of more attacks, how the government will act? what? i am curious.
What scared me about the article was the thought of more attacks. How the government will act (especially in the civil liberties department) has been a consistent fear ever since the first attacks.
i am not where you are sitting, yet might as well be. i have seen more pigs on patrol, since the whole thing happened. our government has been looking for a way to act facist, and the terrorists gave it to them with a box, and bow and whole nine yards. i have nothing against jesus personally, i'll bet if such a figure existed, he would be disgusted at the attitudes of his so called followers. i hear things like"they don't believe what we believe", out of people's mouths. do you see why i am so upset?
I think increased police presence makes most people feel more secure in times of domestic turmoil. I am worried about loss of civil liberties, but I don't think that has happened to any substantial degree. The has to be a response to the acts of 911, and I think increased security presence is part of that response. I know that when I fly into Saint Louis, I'll be comfortable seeing extra security guards at the airport.
As for the Jesus thing, a lot of people I know are getting tired of the endless repetitions of "God Bless America". But that is part of what makes this country great: the ability of everyone to deal with a horrible tragedy in their own ways. Many people find it easier to deal with in the confines of their religions. We should just let them be.
why, they won't let me be. and i am not talking about extra security at the airport, i am taling about more pigs on the streets here in st. louis, where nothing happens. let's give to fireman they say. What about all the doctors and especially nurses, who have slaved away, trying to fix the butchery. also, here near the bible belt, it is unspoken, that if you are for us, then you are christain, if not, then you are unamerican. i do not have any more respect for cops, here they do a lousy job, of keeping anyone safe, and i would rather be dead, than baby sat. i would rahter be dead in general. My god, the terrorists really have one, every one now acting like a bunch of scared kids. also the message this country originally conveyed was tolerance, which means to put up with, does not mean approval. christainity is a national religion, other than schools, i don't see a line drawn between church and state. "Those who would trade a little security, for a little freedom, often find they have neither". the police do not make me feel more secure. let's not forget how corrupt the police are. that does not go away, just because for one day, they did what they were intended to do. nurses get no recognition, and put themselves at risk as well.
Increased police visibility is just that, increased visibility. There are no extra officers on the streets, just the ones that are out there are being more visible. After the tragedy, a lot of people are scared. Even in Saint Louis, people are scared. It doesn't matter the likelihood of an attack in Saint Louis, people are scared. Seeing the officers calms a lot of people down. Criminal elements would try to take advantage of fear, so a calm populous is a safer populous.
As for people who think if you are not Christian you are the enemy. Yes, they exist and are vocal, they are by far the minority. Most Christians find that sort of mentality disgusting. | |
this scares me
