It's amazing. If a week ago I had said that were drugs in my tap water, I would have been labeled as schizophrenic. If I say the same thing today, I'm just someone who reads the news. However, I would have been just as right a week ago or even a year ago. It goes to show the truth in that old saying: "Just because your paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you".
Gun ownership is akin to being sex offender? That's the assertion of Christian Trejbal and is the attempted justification for the printing of the names and home addresses of concealed carry permit holders, including police officers and VICTIMS of domestic violence, in the Roanoke Times . The CNN piece exposing the fallout from the Roanoke Times article features a domestic violence victim now has her name and address listed publicly while her ex-husband who almost killed her won't have his information listed publicly when he gets out of prison. Who's lives are being put in danger here?
As to the assertions that public records should be public information, following that logic wouldn't the databases of holders of driver's licences need to be made public? Cars are potentially dangerous weapons, and I would like to know which of my neighbors might be driving one. That actually may not be too far off, for better or worse we are rapidly heading to a state of near-total information awareness.
Does anyone else find it odd that Turner-owned CNN continued to hype the suspicious devices story even as Turner executives were aware of the situation and what exactly the devices were? If anyone was intentionally spreading fear it was Turner, not Boston Police Department.
Barton was referring to Democratic Reps. Gerry Studds of Massachusetts and Dan Crane of Illinois, both of whom were censured after having sexual relationships with 17-year-old pages. Crane lost his re-election bid, while Studds survived the scandal.
Dan Crane was a Republican. What's up with moving Republican assholes over to the Democratic party? First, FOX News repeatedly labels Foley as a Democrat. Now, CNN is calling Dan Crane as a Democrat. Get your facts straight people!
I've heard a lot of talk around about the hatefulness of Zacarias Moussaoui's testimony at his death penalty trial. It angers and upsets many Americans, especially families of the September 11 victims. And rightfully so.
Us Americans, however, should turn that mirror on ourselves and see that the often equally hateful rhetoric spewed by American politicians and media personalities and even web critics might make people in the Arab world react similarly to how we react to Moussaoui, especially given the orders of magnitude more civilians that have died as a result of the Iraq conflict than died in the September 11 attacks.
Perhaps us Americans should reflect about ourselves what one CNN talking head did about Zacarias Moussaoui, "What motivates such hatred?". The cycle of violence must end. Blood for blood only leads to blood for the blood that was taken for blood.
If a person opposed to animal testing were to walk into an animal testing lab with a hatchet and a gun and proceed to attack the people there with those weapons, that person would instantly be labeled a terrorist by the media and the government, and rightly so.
Why won't the media or the government call Jacob D. Robida a terrorist? I don't know, but I'm sure it has something to do with political agendas. Let us say what they will not: LAST NIGHT there was a TERRORIST ATTACK on a GAY BAR in MASSACHUSETTS.
WBC to picket New York firefighter on his Topeka trip, Mar. 1-3, in religious warning/protest to fag New York and fag America: 'God is not mocked!' God Hates Fags! It was God's wrath that smote you for your fag sins 9/11!...see full text
Fred Phelps is now going after New York City firefighters, claiming God justly killed the firefighters on 9/11 because of their accepting of sin amongst them. The firefighter he's protesting isn't even queer! I think Phelps should get lots of prominent air time to spout his views. I want to see him on CNN. I want to see him in prime time. I think his mouth could be the most effective tool for the queer rights movement.
