Trying Seafood

Date and Time  - Sep. 3rd, 2007, 01:07 pm

Current Mood  - hungry hungry

While I was in Virginia, I tried seafood twice. Once in Christian's shrimp quiche. The shrimp had an odd flavor that seemed inherent to them that I either did not like or simply wasn't used to. Either way, I could only eat three of the shrimps before I gave up trying to like them.

Saturday, I tried some of the fish from Maddie's fish and chips at Hunter's Head in Upperville, and I liked it that time. So, at this point I'm not sure if I should go back to being vegetarian or try eating more seafaring, non-cephalopod exotherms.

Project Three Meals - Attempt 13, Day 3

Date and Time  - Jul. 10th, 2006, 01:29 am

Current Mood  - exhausted exhausted
Current Music  - air conditioner

For breakfast I had grilled cheese (muenster on Ezekiel 4:9) with half a pickle, for lunch I had rotini in tomatoe sauce with parmesan cheese, for dinner I had a veggie burger with fries, I had no healthy snack. I did get in my exercise quota for the day with my walks. In the early evening, my mood dipped down pretty low and I binged on greasy popcorn and chips and salsa.

Low moods often spell trouble for Project Three Meals, because when I'm in a low mood I often cease to care about Project Three Meals and sometimes even sabotage the project on purpose as a form of "self-destruction". This form of self destruction is very minor compared to some of the things I have done in the past. Perhaps having this self-destructive outlet actually helps keep me away from the more damaging self-destructive behaviours, being relatively innocuous outlet for those urges. My failures may actually be improvements.

Project Three Meals - Attempt 13, Day 1

Date and Time  - Jul. 8th, 2006, 10:00 am

Current Mood  - happy happy

For breakfast I had rotini primavera in tomatoe sauce with mushrooms and parmesan cheese; for lunch I had faux lamb, baby corn, and potatoes in caramelized soy sauce and hot red chili oil; for dinner I had a veggie burger with fries; and for my healthy snack I had a pickle. I got in well over 30 minutes of exercise in a morning quasipseudorandom walk around Arlington. Success on the first day, pretty good!

Project Three Meals - Attempt 12, Day 15

Date and Time  - Jun. 26th, 2006, 04:42 pm

Current Mood  - drained drained

I know it's a bit late in the day for this post, but here goes. Yesterday I had spaghetti o's topped with mozzarella for breakfast, mac and cheese with black beans for lunch, a veggie burger with fries for dinner. I had a pickle for my healthy snack. I also ate a cookie and didn't fulfil my exercise quota.

I have been considering giving up on Project Three Meals, but I think I'll keep going for now.

Project Three Meals - Attempt 12, Day 7

Date and Time  - Jun. 18th, 2006, 11:21 am

Current Mood  - hot hot

The food part went perfectly: For breakfast I had spaghetti covered in tomatoe sauce with green and black olives, mushrooms, and parmesan cheese; for lunch I had a vegetable pakoras and samosas, for dinner I had a veggie burger and fries, and for my health snack i had nicoises olives. However, I didn't get any exercise and that is the area I need most to work on at this point.

Last Night

Date and Time  - Apr. 8th, 2004, 01:51 pm

Current Mood  - happy happy
Current Music  - traffic

I went to [info]clintcatalyst's and Michelle Tea's reading of their new book, Pills, Thrills, Chills, and Heartache. I met up with [info]clintcatalyst and [info]purpleglitter beforehand and we sat around talking at [info]purpleglitter's house. I met [info]clintcatalyst once before, but I was waiting for my ride to the psych ward so we didn't interact much. This time we interacted quite a bit, and he is absolutely fagulous. I had big fun.

After the reading, I went out for food with [info]clintcatalyst, Michelle Tea, and a bunch of people from the reading. I got to tell Michelle the circumstances under which I first read her books. I read Valencia in the back of a prayer group at Holy Family catholic hospital. I was on the psych ward there, and [info]purpleglitter had brought it for me to read. Michelle really enjoyed hearing the story.

Full of pizza and fries, [info]clintcatalyst, [info]purpleglitter and I headed back to [info]purpleglitter's apartment where we watched last Sunday's highly stressful episode of the Sopranos. But what episode of the Sopranos isn't highly stressful? I think that's part of the draw of the series, experiencing the stress, but have it be in no way related to you. It's actually quite cathartic and relieving.

[info]purpleglitter took many pictures from last night, some of me, some of which I will post sometime soon. I was wearing a cute gothic schoolgirl dress that [info]purpleglitter got me for my birthday. Stripy tights, completely gothed out. I gothed out, because I wanted to dress up for the occasion, and my red Little Orphan Annie dress doesn't fit anymore. All my dressy clothes that still fit are goth.

All in all, I must say, it's very exciting to meet people who are on your LiveJournal interest list.
