| Flower Candles | ||
I've started making candles again. My new idea is flower candles. I bought some flower shaped flexible cupcake molds. Planning on taking advantage of the contraction of the cooling wax, I filled in the depressions that form at the top of the solidifying candles with a different colour wax. I had hoped they would look like nice flower centers. However, the wax didn't fill evenly, making for extremely irregular centers that don't really say "flower" at all. For my next batch, I'm planning to pick up some metal rings at the hardware store that I can use as a secondary mold for the center. If they turn out well, I'll post pictures.

| Perfect Walk | ||
I had a very nice walk today. I started off at the I went down to Spy Pond, walking past the sundrenched flower gardens by the sidewalk. I turned onto the park path, which I haven't actually done since the park was reopened. I have to admit the park improvements look nice and there were plenty of geese pecking at the grass on either side the path - as there should be. Sitting alone on a rock by the path there was a grey-haired woman singing. Her song was in perfect harmony with the shining pond and trees. I stood there and listened and looked out over the pond. I gave her a wish pod before I continued on in my journey. I walked under the bridge, and back to Mass Ave, then back home. The walk put me in one of the best moods I've had in some time.

| Surprise Visit | ||
We got pakoras for lunch at Chai Café in Arlington Center. The pakoras at Punjab are yummy and cheap. Punjab's tamarind sauce is excelent as well. Good tamarind sauce is a necessity to smother the pakoras in. I have a feeling I'm going to become a regular customer. After lunch, Next we went to a tent sale at Video Horizons. I picked up two movies: Stigmata and Cecil B. Demented.

| Unsuccessful Journey | ||
Back from my excursion out to find wing material, check the mail, and refill my Spironolactone. First stop was the 5 and 10 to look for material. They didn't have what I needed, but by the time I'd reached it the backs of my feet (especially my left foot) were in pain. I made my way to the post office, picked up my mail. Nothing really interesting; just bills, junk mail, and catalogs. By the time I'd reached the post-office I was walking with a hobble, as my feet were killing me. I decided not to continue on to Walgreens, and instead headed back home. On the way, so as not to make the effort a total loss, I stopped by the hardware store and picked up some door hinges so I can reattach the livingroom door -- A necessity now that we are soon to have roommates. Back home I quickly slipped off my shoes to find, unsurprisingly, large ripped blisters on the backs of both my feet. I can't wait until these damn shoes are broken in. It's little wonder I completely wear my shoes out before seeking a new pair. I know I will have to make the trek to Walgreens later tonight, as I am completely out of Spironolactone. I may just go ahead and wear my dying old shoes. They may be falling apart, but at least my feet won't be.
