purpleglitter and I watched the House of Sand (Casa de Areia) last night. Fernanda Montenegro is one of those actors that can speak volumes without moving her lips, a face that says more than words can.

A simply amazing movie. The move has an intensity so subtle and built up so steadily and skillfully that it simply envelops you and takes you on a journey to a place so far away that it seems like another world, yet still very much of this Earth. It is a pocket, a bubble of time, and the stories the lie there. If I still maintained my "100 movies everyone should see" list, this would likely be in the top 10.

I'm going to start make lists. To start with, I'm going to make lists from the book List Your Self by Ilene Segalove and Paul Bob Velick.

Just watched A Beautiful Mind. Amazing movie. Very inspirational. Makes me want to get back into math. It made me believe again that anything is possible. I had been thinking about studying math again earlier this month, but I got distracted. I'm going to head to the library this week and begin studying. I used to be so good at math. I really want to get back into it. I'm probably going to put A Beautiful Mind on my movie list.

Watched In the Mouth of Madness with purpleglitter. Very good movie, I'd seen before. Somehow, I'd forgotten how gory the movie was. But I did remember correctly how delightfully twisted the movie is. It's on my movie list. I'm probably going to watch it again before I return it.

purpleglitter came over late last night and spent the night. She took me to Stop & Shop after we woke up. I was very cranky at Stop & Shop after I found that the only the Progresso soups with meat in them were on sale. If you don't want dead flesh in your soup, you are required to pay full price.

This evening, merryperseis and I watched Dancer in the Dark. It's one of my favorite movies. Björk is as good an actor as she is a singer. I decided to add the movie to my top 50 movies. Whenever I add a movie, I must also remove one. Instinct got the axe this time. Very good movie, but it just didn't make the cut. I also went ahead and did a little reordering to the list as well.

I reordered the 50 movies everyone should watch section of neitherday.com, and added The Madwoman of Chaillot to the list.

Lately, my site has been quite stagnant. No real updates in months. That is going to have to change.

Lake and I watched Chocolat. Wonderful wonderful movie. I'm thinking of putting on my 50 Movies Everyone Should Watch list.

I just added pages for The Company of Wolves and Thelma & Louise to neitherday.com.

I've gotten a lot done today. This afternoon I made a deal with Lake. She'll clean my playroom (which she'll do later) and I'll move everything from her office to the livingroom (because her office is about to become Petra's room). There was a lot of stuff in Lake's office. It took me two hours of almost non-stop sweaty work, but I got it done.

After that I took a nice long shower.

Late this afternoon I helped vonjenef customize her lj over yahoo messenger. Didn't help as much as I could have in person, but she is far away from here, stuck in Missouri.

This evening I added a page for Requiem for a Dream to my movie section. Lake found the links in exchange for setting up Lake's computer in the livingroom. Lake is a computer genius and perfectly capable of setting up her own computer, but she was tired out from setting up everything else for her office in the livingroom.

It might seem unfair that I still have my playroom and Lake loses her office, but there is a major advantage for her to move her office in the livingroom: it is air conditioned. In this weather that is a BIG advantage.
