Married

Date and Time  - Jul. 14th, 2008, 11:44 am

Current Mood  - happy happy
Current Music  - Nick Cave - The Ship Song

[info]purpleglitter and I got legally married Saturday. We intentionally kept this under the radar and had with us the bare minimum of people required, we didn't want anything big, over the top, or stressful. We stood together on the shore of Spy Pond, under a willow tree, in the darkest corner of the garden. We could hear the fish splashing as we said our vows.

I am tied to you, my favorite piece of string. The seas may boil and the mountains may fall to dust and the stars may dim and die. But to you, my favorite piece of string, I shall be tied forever. And after forever has come and gone, forever again I shall love you.

Fun With Wikiscanner

Just for fun, I decided to look at the edits made from the United States Department of state using wikiscanner. I only looked at a fraction of the over 2,500 edits, but here are the ones I thought were interesting:

Laura Bush thinks Condi would be a great president

We're being invaded by Mexicans!!

"...the World Bank is one of the most highly-regarded financial institutions in the world..."

Tiawan is a pseudostate

"The statements about events in 2007 are clearly written by a Russian."

State Department predicts what issues will be contentious at the next Intergovernmental Conference of the European Union

The Department of State knows a lot about science and technology in China.

Feeling much better this morning, hopefully that will last through the day.
I didn't go to therapy yesterday.
I was too depressed, and I've lost trust with my therapist lately.
I don't want to go if I'm in too low of a state, because I don't want to risk being hospitalized.
If I'm in a "I don't care" mindset, I'm less likely to check my words.
Therefore, I'm more likely to get myself in trouble.

-----

This summer I may be visiting [info]goldmourn for nearly a month.
I'm very excited about seeing her.
We've never met in real life, but we've known each other online for years.
She's called me and helped me when I've been in the asylum.
She is someone I can really talk to.
I think we will have a good and interesting time.
I would also like to try to make it to the wedding of [info]lovecraftienne and [info]persephoneplace
[info]lovecraftienne talked to me about a month ago about the concept, but I didn't yet know if I'd go.
Another two people I'd like to meet in real life.
If all goes well...
Canada here I come.

Birthday Report

Date and Time  - Mar. 23rd, 2006, 08:38 am

Current Mood  - happy happy
Current Music  - budgies gurgling

I had a pretty good birthday yesterday. Mellow, laid back, and nice.

[info]purpleglitter woke me up with coffee and breakfast. I heard frying and was very confused, as she usually doesn't cook. The faux sausage was very good, and it was a wonderful way to begin my birthday.

Later in the morning, I went with [info]merryperseis to South Station, where she departed for [info]kitsunekaboom's and [info]spaglet's wedding (which is today, and I wish them a happy longtime together). On my way home, I ran into [info]iamacliche in the pit talking to some guy named Bat. Me and [info]iamacliche headed back to my place together where we listened to music and chatted. He left when my mom ([info]myenergy) called.

[info]zarthon took [info]purpleglitter and me out to Grasshopper for my birthday dinner. I had never been there before. There are very few places where as a vegetarian I can order anything on the menu. The food was so impressive that even [info]zarthon, a die-hard meat eater, left raving about it. The three of us headed back to [info]purpleglitter's place and had Peachy Keens (peach juice & Southern Comfort).

Angles of Enemy

Current Music  - budgies gone wild

A group of more than 80 powerful evangelical leaders have defied the Bush White House and called for federal legislation to curb global warming.

The statement marks the first time that leading evangelicals have taken up the green issue.

And it has caused splits within the religious right.

They have embraced the environment in recent years, most notably with a "What would Jesus drive?" campaign against sports utility vehicles.

But this is a new departure.

The statement - signed by mega-church pastors like Rick Warren, author of the bestseller The Purpose-Driven Life, heads of Christian colleges and missionary organisations - puts saving "God's green earth" on a par with traditional evangelical concerns like abortion and gay marriage.

There is danger in blanketly labeling any group as "enemy". Even groups that generally have restricting our rights as part of their agendas. We are all part of humanity. We are all part of the Happening. Returning the hate does nothing but keep it going. If we love the Fundamentalist Christians as Christ has asked them love us, maybe they will learn by our example the peace of the message they hold sacred.

157-39

BOSTON --The Massachusetts Legislature on Wednesday rejected a proposed constitutional amendment that sought to ban gay marriage but legalize civil unions, a year after the state performed the nation's first government-sanctioned same-sex weddings.

It was the second time the Legislature had confronted the measure, which was intended to be put before voters on a statewide ballot in 2006. Under state law, lawmakers were required to approve it in two consecutive sessions before it could move forward.

After less than two hours of debate Wednesday, a joint session of the House and Senate voted 157-39 against the measure.

Project Three Meals: Day 4

Date and Time  - Sep. 11th, 2004, 09:03 pm

Current Mood  - mellow mellow
Current Music  - fan

I ate a reasonable breakfast and dinner (a bowl of mushroom soup and a bowl of ramen). However between those two meals I consumed a great deal of food. However, seeing as most of it was consumed at a wedding reception, I won't beat myself up too much about it. Maybe tomorrow will be the first day I succeed in my meal plan.

Scheduled Cleaning

Date and Time  - Sep. 10th, 2004, 01:04 pm

Current Mood  - productive productive
Current Music  - fan

I just finished my scheduled hour of cleaning. I picked up trash in my room and throughout the house, though there is more left. I cleaned up the cat poop next to the litter box in my room, as [info]mazzycat is being passive aggressive by purposefully not using the litter because she's mad that she had to move back to the [info]house_of_clocks where Jello and Spyder pick on her. I also cleaned the vast majority of the large pile of dishes in the kitchen. Washed some knickers. Did some assorted other cleany stuffs that I came across. Still a lot of work to do, but that is okay as I have a scheduled hour of cleaning a day now it will get done. However, tomorrow I won't be doing my scheduled hour because I will be at [info]recoiling's and [info]iamacliche's wedding.
